From our campsite Discover Paris, Fontainebleau or Disneyland

Our campsite is located on the edge of the Fontainebleau forest, just 30 minutes by train from the south-eastern main station of Paris. From the campsite you can visit Paris, the most prestigious museums ( The Louvres, Orsay, etc.), the Eiffel Tower or the Notre-Dame Cathedral. Next to Paris, the forest of Fontainebleau invites you for beautiful walks and the castles of Fontainebleau and Vaux-le-Vicomte teach you a lot about the history of France. Children will enjoy Disneyland Park, which is easily accessible from the campsite. Do not forget to visit the beautiful city of Moret-sur-Loing, Barbizon or the medieval city of Provins. Around the campsite there are many locations to discover with the family! Do not hesitate to ask for advice and information at the reception. There is something to do for every age!

Melun, a royal city, A city to discover

From the La Belle Etoile campsite you can easily reach the city center of Melun to visit some of the most emblematic places, starting with the National Gendarmerie  Museum, with uniforms from the Middle Ages to the present, or the cathedral Notre-Dame.This town has much more to offer than you might think. And do not miss to taste the famous Brie de Melun at the local market every Wednesday and Saturday morning.

Paris the City of Light Just 30 minutes from the campsite

Is it still necessary to present Paris? Many see it as the most beautiful city in the world. With its prestigious museums such as the Louvres or the Orsay Museum,  the  unique charm of  its  Montmartre district,its  department stores on the boulevards of Haussmann and of course the Eiffel Tower, Paris is a magical city that is to be (re) discovered with always the same pleasure. Take advantage of your stay in Melun at the La Belle Etoile campsite to enjoy the many possibilities that Paris  offers.

Castle of Fontainebleau (18 km) A stay of all kings and emperors

34 kings and 2 French emperors lived in the castle of Fontainebleau throughout the centuries. This elegant castle is set in a beautiful garden, which covers 130 hectares in the heart of the City of Fontainebleau, home of 1500 rooms, making it one of the largest in France. Depending on your visit, admire the rooms of Marie Antoinette, Napoleon or Henri IV and a collection of furniture of incredible wealth. Take the time to walk through its gardens, part of which was designed by Le Nôtre.

Castle Vaux-le-Vicomte (6 km) The castle that inspired Versailles

The castle of Vaux-le-Vicomte is a true gem. Designed by Louis le Vau and surrounded by gardens dreamed by Le Nôtre, this castle is a model of classical architecture. It is so opulent that this castle made Louis XIV jealous.He wanted a more splendid castle and made Versailles with Louis Le Vau and André Le Nôtre. In the heart of its 35-hectare park, Vaux-le-Vicomte remains one of the most beautiful castles in France. Nocturnal visits (Saturday from May to September) make it possible to stroll through the park and the castle lit by candlelight. A magical moment.

Espace La cartonnerie (5 km) The leisure factory

This indoor complex is located in Dammarie-les-Lys, just a few minutes from the campsite La Belle Etoile. Nicknamed the "leisure factory", this space contains a bowling alley, a karting track, an ice rink (open in the summer), billiards and playrooms, a cinema and several restaurants. In short, a great time with the family! Undoubtedly your children will love this fun resort. The ideal solution if the weather is rainy.

BARBIZON

Barbizon (11 km) The village of painters

For lovers of painting, Barbizon is a form of pilgrimage. This village a few minutes from the campsite La Belle Etoile was indeed one of the centers of pre-impressionist painting in France. From 1830 on, the painters of that time were looking for inspiration in the village and the forest around it. From that time the village has inherited beautiful collections that can be admired in the "Painters Museum of Barbizon" installed in the Inn Ganne, where the painters had their habits.

MOREY

Moret-sur-Loing (25 km) Medieval City of charm

If the origin of Moret-sur-Loing is military, the city  served as a defence against the Burgundians in the Middle Ages, however, it acquired its notoriety many years later when various Impressionist painters settled there after Alfred Sisley. From that time on, the city has retained a unique charm with its ramparts, Renaissance houses, its dungeon, etc. Let yourself be seduced by this little town that invites you to stroll through its historic districts.

Provins (60 km) Medieval city on the outskirts of Paris

60 km from the campsite La Belle Etoile you will find Provins, a beautiful medieval city that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. By entering the walls of the city, immerse yourself in history and admire a rich architectural heritage with beautiful buildings, the Caesar Tower, etc. During the summer, medieval shows with raptorial birds and troubadours liven up the streets of the medieval city Provins.
